Local Charities Seek Christmas Cheer!

This year three local, south west charities will be attending the Devon & Cornwall Christmas Equine Fair , Westpoint Centre, Exeter with the intention of raising their public profiles and raising awareness of the causes they seek to support through their members hard work.

The South West Equine Protection

Firstly Bridgewater based Rural FosterCare Ltd will be seeking to spread the word on experimental Therapeutic Horsemanship, used when working with young people to teach and release potential through greater self awareness alongside the obvious health benefits associated with being outdoors.

Also in attendance will be Children's Hospice South West , all the children who use the Hospice have Life Limiting, or Life Threatening Conditions, which mean that they are not expected to live into adulthood. Some families may use the hospice for many years, from the time the child is first diagnosed, they may attend it for planned respite, or for emergency care, depending on their needs and the support that the family request.

However it is not only human charities that will be looking for support and a growing awareness of the worthwhile things they do. The South West Equine Protection charity formed entirely by volunteers, whose purpose is to help equines across the whole region that are abandoned or suffering from neglect and cruelty, whether caused by heartlessness or ignorance will also be seeking support.

And with the Christmas spirit beginning to burst in to life and the opportunity to indulge in the thriving shopping village offered by the event, why not slip those inevitable pieces of lose change in to a collection box of one of these wonderful causes.
