Profile
Dating back to 1912,
Brixham United continued into the early 1920s changing its name
until it became Brixham United once more in 1925. After World
War two the club found its feet at Wall Park with the present
pitch started in 1956 and success in the Plymouth and District
League throughout the 1950s, when they won many trophies. The
club was also successful in the 1970smoving them into the Western
League but this proved very tough as it was a semi professional
league. In the 1980s they began in the South Devon League in
division 6 and have moved up and down the divisions until the
main team's present position in the Premier League.
At present there are
two senior teams, the First team and Reserves, and several youth
teams including an under 15 girls team. The First team are in
the Premier division, last years Belli Cup winners, Reserves
play in Division two with practice nights on Tuesdays and Thursdays
and this years sponsors including Brixham Holiday Park.
The new clubhouse
at Wall Park the home ground of Brixham United was completed
recently offering a wide range of refreshments and drinks on
match days. |
