Brixham Theatre
School Project Performers
Nearly 50 children, aged 4 to 13yrs, took to the stage last
weekend with Brixham Theatre School Project Performers. A packed
Brixham Theatre was treated to a colourful and lively show.
The Land of Magic and Mischief, was an original show written
by Polly Pritchard-Davies who runs and teaches the classes.

Yesteryears
A NEW pirate-themed business
which offers visitors the chance to dress up like Captain
Jack Sparrow or any scourge of the high seas has now opened
in Brixham. Yesteryears is a new old-time
costume photography studio tucked in at the back of the Smugglers'
Story attraction on the harbour side – corner of Fore &
King Streets.

“Memories
are Made of This 5” Variety Show in aid of Brixham Does Care
BRIXHAM DOES CARE wishes to thank the
local Brixham residents and visitors alike who joined forces
at the Berry Head Hotel recently to attend the fifth “Memories
Are Made of This” variety show, raising £888.30 for their
charity.

The Brixham Smuggler's Story
A new all weather attraction has arrived in Brixham offering
an audio visual experience designed to take you back in time
and bring Brixham's Smugglers to life! Located at the harbourside,
The Brixham Smuggler's Story has taken a great deal of planning,
construction, location filming and research into the local history
of smuggling, to recreate the the world of the smuggling gangs
from two centuries ago.

Memorial raises
much needed funds for Shoalstone Pool!
On Sunday 30th September Pete Cole's 10th Anniversary Memorial
and Fund Raising event, in aid of the Friends of Shoalstone
Pool, was held at the Breakwater Bistro Café.

Shoalstone team
cycle to Plymouth Tinside outdoor pool
Mark Portwood, Jenny Harriman, John King, Ben Meagor and Chris
Blower completed their sponsored cycle ride to Plymouth this
weekend. The 40 mile trip took just over 3 hours with several
stops for refreshments en route and a puncture repair to Ben's
bike outside Totnes.

Brixham Fishstock
2012
This year Brixham's Fishstock, a festival of food and music
and much more, enjoyed warm, dry, conditions, with sumptuous
smells of the cooked seafood drawing the crowds to come and
sample the many food stalls surrounding the New Fish Market.

The Brixham WI has just set up an exhibition at Brixham Library
to mark their 40th. Secretary, Elly Challoner, says “We are
a group of very friendly, lively ladies with a tremendous joy
in living and a great sense of bubbling humour, our meetings
are alive with new inputs, ideas and laughter.

GRENVILLE GARDEN

Members of Pride in Brixham were given a warm welcome on Tuesday
21st August at Grenville House, before being introduced by Pete
Busby, Athena Savaa and the
staff at Grenville House to Dr Sarah Wollaston MP. Sarah
had been invited to come and see Grenville House and inspect
the new Grenville Garden, created by the group of local volunteers,
Pride in Brixham.

The Crab Quay House, Brixham, is now
open for business following its launch event on Thursday 2nd
August, which proved to be a very special evening for the invited
guests.
After an extremely tight time frame to get the Crab Quay House
ready, the restaurant, bar and deli still needed a few finishing
touches...
