Torbay Week 2010 – entry deadline looming!

The closing date for entering into this year's Torbay Week sailing regatta is fast approaching - however, there is still chance to get an early bird discount on fees until 1st August.

Torbay Week 2010 For sailors keen to ride the waves during the event, which runs from Friday 20th until Wednesday 25th August, entry can be made using the online booking system on the Torbay Week website www.torbayweek.co.uk , or manually by sending an application form – downloadable from the website - to the sailing administration department at the Royal Torbay Yacht Club, Beacon Terrace, Torquay, TQ1 2BH.

The regatta boasts one of the best value-for-money championships on the south coast, with early entries starting at just £25 for a dinghy, £65 for a PY cruiser and £75 for an IRC cruiser. In addition, Torbay Harbour Authority is offering free yacht berthing at town moorings, as well as free launching for dinghies.

Last year, over 700 competitors took part in Torbay Week from across the country. The event, run by the Torbay Week Management Group on behalf of Babbacombe Corinthian Sailing Club, Brixham Yacht Club, Paignton Sailing Club, and Royal Torbay Yacht Club, includes a four day yachting championship and a full social programme of entertainment.

Torbay Week director, David Homer, praised the way the four clubs have worked together again in order to ensure a world class event for the south coast.

“We've consistently received great feedback from competitors about the standard of racing at Torbay Week. We're extremely fortunate to have world class race officers in Torbay who together with all our volunteers will again be running a fantastic event.”

Torbay Week is supported by the English Riviera Tourist Board and Torbay Harbour Authority.
