The ticket enables the holder to half price travel on through journeys, when travelling in either direction, on selected trains between Paignton and Kingswear. A return ticket is normally £8, but will be available for £4 with the Local Rover Ticket.

Andrew Pooley, General Manager said, “The Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway recognise the importance of the local market and are encouraging residents to use a more unusual mode of transport and to enjoy a scenic and sustainable way of travelling. Locals' can use the service to do their shopping, commuting or simply for a day out and we look forward to welcoming our new local customers.”

By ditching the car and using the steam train, locals will be part of a greener future, reducing their carbon footprint and traffic congestion. Holders of the Local Rover Ticket will be supporting the local economy and re-acquainting themselves with the beauty and variety of scenery that is on their doorstep.
