Pipers
and drummers celebrate 100 years for Dorothy!
On
Wednesday 28th July the rousing sound of pipers and drummers
could be heard all around Brixham harbour, as members of the
Hill family saluted the 100th birthday of Dorothy Mable Hill,
with the procession along the quayside heading up Overgang
to join the planned festivities for Dorothy's centennial celebrations,
at Brixham Yacht Club.
After
a busy Torbay Lifeboat Week with events throughout the week,
the Torbay Lifeboat Crew and Lifeboat Guild put together a finale
on Sunday 25th July with an open day which include raft races,
cake auction, stalls and games, tours of the Lifeboat Station
and All Weather Torbay Lifeboat, the afternoon ending in the
lifeboat crew responding to a ‘Shout' that took them to the
rescue of a wake-boarder.
That's the proud boast
of Brixham's Sea Rangers and Cadets who, despite tough competition,
swept the board at the national regatta in Sutton Coldfield.
I am looking for a Mr. Peter Hayden approximate age 65. He played
rugby many years ago for Brixham Rugby club. Could you please
spread your net to help find Pete?
We have a mutual friend that has passed away and I would like
to inform Pete of the funeral arrangements. Our mutual friends
name was Jim Wastie and the funeral is on Friday 30th
July at Truro Crematorium.
Thank you and hope you can help.
