Brixham is described as the' attractive little town built into the cliffs at the southern end of Torbay' but to those who know and love it is much more than a seaside destination. It is a community with a wealth of activities and interests many of which are still linked to the historical harbour and its fame as a fishing port. |
The harbour is filled with character and attractions such as the Golden Hind replica which appeals to tourists whilst the many cafes here also provide places for locals to stop and take in the harbour activities. And there's plenty to watch as you stand by Prince William of Orange Statue including the boat mending and the ducks! The largest drake here is known by some as Nelson and is a local of 14 years. As an 'incomer' he's seen quite a few changes to the harbour. This includes the building of the Marina with its flats and like many visitors the Drake decided to stay making Brixham his home.
