The attractions of Brixham include its marine position, places of outstanding natural beauty such as Berry Head National Nature Reserve, the rich agricultural land around Higher Brixham, and the friendly 'village' atmosphere which the town seems to possess. It also has a wide range of amenities including a compact shopping centre, St Mary's Park, Furzeham Green and several sports grounds. The community school and local churches provide other centres and activities for local people. The fame of All Saints Church and the hymn 'Abide with Me' by the Rev Henry F. Lyte, together with the numerous churches, point to Brixham's strong Christian heritage and thriving Christian community.
