Santa's back in town!

For the next few days Santa is putting in an appearance at the YES - Youth Enquiries Service Grotto on New Rd between 11am-4pm.

Stationed in his specially built elves toy workshop, Santa is handing out the toys to girls and boys via the conveyor belt and chute, with each present personally named by the elves preparing them, for the child receiving them.

Paul with Tom and James as soldiers and a ginger breadman On the first day of his visit, Sat 19th Dec, the steady flow of visitors saw children opening their presents, thrilled to receive teddy bears, skipping ropes and a range of small toys, whilst parents were offered mulled wine and mince pies.

The elves were also on hand to entertain those waiting in the Victorian parlour to visit Father Christmas with a Christmas Colouring Competition and Puppet Panto. The improvised Puppet shows were delightfully made up to include the names of those watching and a Jennifer, Will and Karys demonstrated they like to add a twist designed to highlight the true meaning of Christmas.

Putting the whole experience together for Santa's visit are the Brixham Young Volunteers and YES staff with Project Manager Chris Guy saying, “We couldn't have done this without the invaluable help of Ross Lomas and of course our special guest Santa Claus.”

One of the Christmas sets within the grotto Harry one of the elves said, ”We elves are very excited, as we've been preparing for this for a long time.” The grotto can be visited between 11am and 4pm on Sunday 20th, Mon 21st and Tue 22nd and photos are available on request of visiting children with Santa as a reminder of the event.
