Grotto at YES

The team of Young Volunteers have been busy helping to arrange a grotto for Father Christmas at the Youth Enquires Service offices on New Road. This year instead of an ice kingdom, to make Father Christmas feel right at home, 13 Christmas Trees have been brought in to create a woodland scene with the help of some elves and a friendly polar bear. The team were also grateful to Jeff Miall for his help, whilst YES project workers helped create a Victorian Parlour for Father Christmas's guests to wait in.

Young Volunteers Charlotte, Fergie, Rosie, Matt, Megan and Anna were also on hand to guide the young visitors to Father Christmas who arrived for a four day visit from Wed19th to Sat 21st giving out presents.

For parents and guardians the Victorian Parlour provided a place to relax in with mince pies and mulled wine to allowing them to warm up by the fire kindly loaned by Popes the Electrical People.

With some of the money for the scheme donated by from Brixham 21 and the Torbay Youth Service, the project has taken a lot of hard work in the week before Christmas and the team are looking forward to a rest after Father Christmas leaves Brixham for his major deliveries on Christmas Eve.
