Christmas Choirs generate cash for music fund

The Brixham Orpheus Male Voice Choir who held their Christmas Concert in the Methodist Church in Fore Street Brixham, were helped this year by the Riviera Singers and the Eden Park School Choir and Band to create a memorable evening.

Indeed the evening was a great success, as £1000 was collected. This money will now be used for the purchase of musical instruments and to help with tuition fees for young people who need financial help in pursuing musical interests. The fund the money will go to also allows young people to have an instrument to use, learn with and then return when they have finished with them.

Mrs Myrtle Jowett received the £1000 on behalf or the Toby Freemen's Golden Jubilee Fund and was extremely pleased with the cheque thanking all those involved. She also said that it ‘brought back memories seeing some of the members of the Male Voice Choir and remembering them when they were young boys.'
