WATER BASED EXERCISE FOR ALL

The Brixham Indoor Pool closure has led to a change of class time for Adult Education courses usually taught on a Wednesday lunchtime. The Pool Directors have arranged for water space at Riviera Bay, Mudstone Lane, Brixham to compensate for the 9 month closure.

From 9-10am the pool is available to regular classes and clubs, so the Brixham Adult and Community Learning (ACL) team are now offering Water Aerobics on Monday morning from 9-10am.

This session is suitable for all ages and is a fun way to get fit without the strains of land based exercise. There is another Water Aerobics class on Thursdays from 6-7pm at Riviera Bay . Both classes are taught by Sonya Radmore and still have some spaces. Bookings can be made by calling the ACL Team at Brixham on 01803 853302.

There are also spaces in the Lifeguard training course that starts on May 9th . This course will be held at Plainmoor Pool, taught by Jon Kenn, and is free to young people aged 16-18 on the census date of 31.08.07. It is a great opportunity to earn money over the summer and when students go away to College.

The Indoor Pool staff are keen to inform the public that there are still opportunities for swimming from 7am until 9am when members of the public can book in for a half hour swim with limited numbers making it a pleasant experience. Bookings can be made by calling 01803 857151. Swimmers will need to be members to use the facilities and membership is £15.

The new venue is light and spacious with a fabulous early morning view over St Mary's Bay. The pool is approximately two thirds if the size of the Indoor Pool and a wonderful alternative whilst the Indoor Pool is out of action.
