Kathie Johnston has been playing music with babies and young children for over 20 years. Many families in Devon have already attended her music sessions in schools, libraries, nurseries and toddler groups.

The music featured in her classes and training events is now available for the first time on CD. 

Kathie is a tutor at South Devon College and facilitates music sessions in Torbay schools and libraries. She recently composed and performed songs for the national Bookstart CD and Rhyme Time Book. In June this year she performed at the Hay-On-Wye International Literary Festival.

The CDs are ideal for sharing with babies, toddlers and younger children as the music is recorded with mainly acoustic instruments and without the intrusion of unnecessary electronic sounds, to make it easier for little ears to hear. The songs are performed at a tempo which is suitable for little voices to join in and sing along with!

Each CD is presented in a study box with an accompanying booklet of words.

Kathie says: “Sharing simple nursery rhymes and action songs with children can help with their language development, co-ordination and understanding of the world”.

The CDs are used by families and practitioners in the U.K. and in Germany .
