Quality Mark for Eden Park

Eden Park Primary School has gained another important award, 'The
Basic Skills Quality Mark'. This accreditation is achieved following a
detailed examination of the school's approach to the teaching, monitoring and assessing of Literacy and Numeracy and the award is endorsed through the Basic Skills Agency.

Pupils and Head Teacher receiving plaque from Sue

Headteacher Ken Kies commented, "We are very proud of the award, it reflects the continual hard work and professionalism of all
our staff.  We try to make the curriculum really exciting for the children and as a result they are generally very positive about their learning."

At a special school assembly Sue Nicholson Assistant Director of The Basic Skills Agency presented a plaque and certificate to members of the School Council. Pupils from a range of classes also presented examples of their literacy achievements. Year 1 pupils confidently read their well written autobiographies of Cinderella, whilst Year 6 expressively recited their own poems inspired by Macbeth.

Sue Nicholson praised Eden Park Primary School saying that since the Infants and Juniors Schools had been united 'the whole primary school had worked together to achieve this award.'
