Dear Brixham News
It is approaching a very sad time as 12th March is the
anniversary of the death of Charles Blackmore. Charles, a Brixham
lad spent much of his life as the caretaker of Furzeham Primary
School. I first met Charles when my then future husband took
me down to Brixham because his uncle Charles had been taken
ill. I took to Charles right away and over the next 20 years
it was a great pleasure to get to know him. As a great uncle
to my sons Andrew and David you could ask for no one better.
Charles loved his home town of Brixham and the place seems somewhat
emptier without him. As caretaker of the primary school he saw
generations of children and their children grow up and have
children of their own. His home looking over the green
I believe has now been changed that home was his for so
many happy years. Although he is gone he is not forgotten.
