Congratulations to Victoria Phillips who won a competition organised by the National Geographical Junior Magazine. Victoria who is a Year 7 student at Churston Ferrers Grammar School was one of only four young winners in the competition chosen to perform an experiment in front of the Queen and Prince Phillip.

Victoria experimented in front of the Queen turning clear liquid into the colours of the Union Jack using a seemingly mysterious substance.

Victoria said” I like entering competitions. It is fun. The different things you can win are exciting and it's a great experience if you do win”.

Head teacher Mr Owers said “This was a great opportunity for Victoria to meet the Queen; it was also a great opportunity for the Queen to meet one of Britain 's future leaders!”
