Business Efficiency in Practice

Year 13 Business Studies students from Churston Ferrers Grammar School received a boost to their final preparation for impending A Level examinations later this month.

John Steer, Personnel Manager for Tesco in Newton Abbot put theory into practice and enlightened students into how the retail giant maximises productivity whilst maintaining one of the lowest staff turnover rates in the sector.

Mr Steer explained how every operation is evaluated down to the smallest detail, so costs are minimised without any compromise to customer service.

The consensus from the group was that having an outside expert in who actually ‘walks the talk' is invaluable.
