SEA & SHORE EXHIBITION

The new gallery within the Brixham Adult & Community Centre has provided space for a rapidly selling exhibition entitled "Sea and Shore".

Starfish and Seaweed

Artists John André and Jenny Harriman have teamed up to create an eye-catching show. John paints in a range of media and sold six pictures of the coastline & boats at sea within days of opening. His latest piece is a collage style painting of all the elements that make Brixham so special, from King William's statue to the Sprat & Mackerel and All Saints Church. Jenny makes mirrors using driftwood, shells and found items from the shoreline.

Her designs are varied in size and shape, from circular to triangular. She has two large sculptures on show at the College, again made from recycled items found on the beach.

The show is on until December 20th and members of the public are encouraged to pop in whenever the ACL Centre is open for a free viewing. Monday - Friday 9.30am - 3.30pm , Mon-Thurs 6.30pm - 8.30pm.

The gallery is available to other artists for a six week booking (half termly). There is no charge to anyone connected with the ACL Dept (students & tutors) but other artists are asked to give a 10% donation of their sales income to ACE, the College charity that enables physically disabled adults to attend courses in Brixham.
