Minutes of
the October meeting were passed and signed.
Matters arising
Lent Course.
Anne Burden informed us that all churches had been
notified and that eight groups are participating at differing
venues and times. Ian Blyde informed the meeting that Kingswear
were also participating It was pointed out after a question,
that it is hoped that people would sign up to one specific group
to allow continuity. Ian thanked Anne for all her work in setting
this up.
Drama-
this play had been enacted in six churches already and we hope
to cover the rest in due course. It challenges people as to
what Christ said about his disciples being 'one' and talks about
the opportunities with the ecumenical Lent course.
Coffee Morning-
to allow us flexibility in financial planning, Eileen
will organise a coffee morning in the Christian Community Centre
at some future date.
Prayer Day- on
Saturday, 6th October. This should have been covered in the
AGM. It had been held on the same day as the one in Exeter-
it had been felt that a local one was more likely to b supported
- this proved right and it was better supported than had been
anticipated.
Casino protest-
this had been delayed by the Council whilst a re-think
takes place. Barbara Vond will keep us informed of developments
when things begin to move again.
The meeting closed
at 9.20.pm as we shared the peace.
The date of
the next meeting is Tuesday, 4th March in St Mary's Church Hall
