GOD vs. THE GOVERNMENT…

Dear Colleen,

Having just read your article, (front page) I am, as a parent, horrified, frustrated and disgusted to think that local agencies and official government employees are allowed to administer such an extremely aggressive form of contraception as the infamous ‘morning-after-pill' without parental knowledge or permission, God forbid that something serious should occur as a result of this practise, either now or later in life for these young girls, just who would stand accountable for this?.

GOD vs. THE GOVERNMENT&
I have noted that the only schools that are not participating, and/or encouraging the handing out of this type of radical treatment are St Cuthbert Mayne and also Torquay Grammar, both very well respected schools.

And for good reason, moral and ethical not fiscal, I do believe that there are higher laws and theological beliefs that must always be put before any Government directives and ‘NO' I'm not a stereotypical ‘happy-clappy-do-gooder' but I do have a good and healthy belief in religion and family values and find this practise to be insulting and hypercritical, in an enlightened age when we, as a society, can find GM food so abhorrent and have such protocols of reverence in how we treat our dead, yet still we give little or no compassion to the very beginnings of human life. I do believe that time & history will look back at this practise and consider it to be barbaric and verging on the limits of selective breeding.

Kevin (Torbay)

Dear Brixham Churches & members, please can you help !!!!!!

Please read above my response to the front-page article, 'teen pregnancy' dated 28/05/07..... I was horrified to learn of the intention to promote and encourage the handing out of the morning after pill to teenage girls across the Bay as a form of extremely aggressive contraception. I am not an overly religious man, but on this subject I have very clear and definite views . Having been in the thick-of-it for the past few months and trying my level best to draw attention to this practise I would appreciate any support from you and your members, letters of response such as ours would be a great help, I cannot believe that we are the only family here in Torbay that see's this as a wrongful directive and an offence to the whole ethos of family values.

Kindest regards......... Kevin and family
