The Ministry of David Hathaway

Prayer Email Update: 11 th June 2007

The Ministry of david Hathaway

Dear Prayer Partner

“I have a vision in my soul – Eurovision – a vision of Europe won for Christ. This vision is God's vision, God's desire – to see His power, His glory in Europe, and I will not rest until God fulfils this vision that He has put within my soul.

Europe is the least evangelised continent in the world. Yes, there is much religion, but God wants to set Europe on fire by His Holy Spirit.”

Next Crusades: Krasnoyarsk and Irkutsk, Siberia 14-20 June 2007

David's next crusade will be in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia.

Krasnoyarsk (1 million population) is situated in the very centre of Siberia, the capital of the vast Krasnoyarsk region (the largest administrative bloc in all Russia, stretching from the Arctic Ocean in the north virtually to the borders of Mongolia in Central Asia in the south). Dating back to 1628, this city is located on the powerful Enisey river, surrounded by beautiful mountains (with ski resort). The city centre is remarkable for its elegant and historic buildings – and the people are open, lively and dynamic.

Once again the meetings will be supported by the choir from Perm. They will travel 48 hours non-stop 3000km on (rough) roads, arriving only on the morning of the opening night. They will leave straight after the closing meeting to do the same journey home! These are the conditions in Russia – and this is Russian dedication. We deeply appreciate their love and sacrifice. Please pray for their safe travel.

Last year the unbelieving director of the sports hall we used witnessed the meetings, heard the preaching about Christ, saw the thousands coming forward to repent, and he was so moved that he said, “If only five of these thousands were changed by the preaching it would all be worth it!”

The meetings will be held in the same sports hall and broadcast on regional TV. These crusade broadcasts are proving extremely effective – in the first four months of this year 100,000 TV viewers have been personally counselled by our free-phone call-centre in Perm. The power of God is moving in this nation like never before – but please pray urgently about this crusade . As you will be aware, Britain and Russia are engaged in numerous diplomatic arguments – one of the central allegations against Britain has been made by the politicians in Krasnoyarsk – they claim that Britain is training up Russian spies. Please pray that this will not affect our freedom to preach the Gospel. We have all the visas and written legal permissions to hold the crusades – but these can be withdrawn without any notice and reason.

After the crusade in Krasnoyarsk we are making a brief visit to Irkutsk by the beautiful Lake Baikal – this will be a pastors and leaders meeting. Irkutsk is 3000 miles by rail from Moscow and was one of the major hubs of the much feared Gulag network in Siberia.

Broadcasting on Secular European TV!

‘In our streets and in our cities there is a famine for the Word of God' – Amos 8:11

As a direct result of our crusade broadcasts on German secular TV, CNBC Europe – one of the world's largest business and news broadcasters – has approved our Gospel programmes for broadcast. This is a secular channel, yet will allow us to show the simple Gospel of forgiveness, call to repentance and testimonies! The programme will be shown in three languages – English, Russian and German – not everyone in Europe can understand and follow English language programmes. We start broadcasting on CNBC Europe from 1 st July, every Sunday morning at 10.30am UK time and 11.30am CET. This channel is broadcast in 74 countries and carried in the majority of four and five star hotels in 47 nations including Saudi Arabia, Syria and Israel.

Please pray for these programmes: This opportunity to preach the Gospel in 3 major languages will enable us to reach people who ordinarily would not watch Christian programming. We want to reach non-Christians with the Gospel of Jesus Christ – and we believe that this will enable us to do this. Please pray that people will be touched and lives changed. Because of the unique way our crusades are filmed – and the phrasing that David uses – we are the only European Christian ministry allowed to include the call to repentance on these secular channels – please join us in prayer that God will use this to change lives and ultimately change nations.

Please continue to pray that God will open up more opportunities to broadcast the Gospel on secular TV – and that as these opportunities develop, God will provide the means to pay. It is our desire to broadcast the Gospel on secular TV networks – we want to reach the people for Jesus. Please also continue to pray for our crusade TV broadcasts in Germany… the programmes are shown every Saturday on Das Vierte (the equivalent of UK Channel 4) – they can also be seen in Austria and Switzerland, and parts of France and Holland.

Thank you for your prayer partnership – together we are preaching the Power of Faith in Jesus Christ.

Yours in Christ
