God's Supermarket

Brixham Baptist Church

In a dream I had the other night, I was standing in front of a stone.

A sign that read - 'God's Supermarket' was just above the door.

To my surprise - as I walked in - an Angel gave me a cart,

And, pointing to the first big aisle, he told me I could start

To select whatever I needed, from every shelf and rack.

And if I couldn't carry it all, I was welcome to come back.

First I got some patience, and love was on the same row.

I picked up understanding, we all need that you know.

I got a full box of wisdom and a great big bag of Grace.

Faith that looked like mustard seeds was scattered all over the place.

I pushed my cart up the aisle of prayer and had to put some in -

Because I knew that when I left, I'd run right into sin.

A sack of joy and one of praise, a couple of pounds of peace;

A bunch of songs in a hundred flavours with which to season my feast.

By now my cart was over flowing, so I asked, "How much do I owe?"

"Don't worry!" the Angel said, "Get some more before you go."

"Really!" I said, feeling somewhat anxious. "Please tell me, how much do I owe?"

"Your bill", he said, "was paid by Jesus, a long, long time ago!"
