Brixham a Record Breaker?

Well over a thousand turned out to support the Guinness World Record Attempt in Brixham, where the Brixham Buccaneers Pirate Festival set out to round up the largest gathering of pirates in one place, on Sunday 2nd May.

With the road closed at St Mary's Square, Higher Brixham and staging filled with children from local schools, the Revd Ian Blyde, hosted the outdoor event where everyone was invited to join in carols accompanied by the Brixham Town Band and listen to songs performed by each of the school choirs.

Actor Nick Lucas as Sir Arthur 'Bomber' Harris in Saturday evenings play 'BERT' a play in 2 acts by historian Deborah Lake. Nick performed free of charge as did all the production crew. He played to an audience of over 100 and admission was of course free.

Brixham Battery Group's weekend 15th Lottery Anniversary events were very well supported. Over 100 people visited the Heritage Centre at our 'Meet the Home Guard' event on Friday afternoon.
