'I
urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession
and thanksgiving be made for everyone - for kings and all those
in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all
godliness and holiness.'

Christmas
- Fact or Fiction - ‘History' or Children's
story?
Christmas is a time
when we make a lot of decisions - what to buy for our children
as loved ones? Do we have a turkey like every other year? Shall
we give Mum a treat and have Christmas lunch at a restaurant
- can we afford it all? So many decisions, but yet the most
important one at this time is the one we make about The Christmas
Child - the ‘Christ Child'. Is he the Son of God or was it just
a nice story? For God so loved the world that he gave his only
son (as a present to the world), that those who believe in him
should not perish but have eternal life! If God's son really
did come down to earth as a baby, live on earth as a boy and
a man, spend 3 years teaching, healing and showing us the love
of God, was cruelly put to death on a cross, only to rise from
the dead 3 days later -if all that is fact, then his
is the most important birthday in the world.
Those
who believe in him have eternal life - an eternity of ‘Happy
Christmases'. If it's fiction, well have a happy Christmas in
2007! It's for you to decide! |
