2009 took the theme ‘With these hands' , which the talented
flower arrangers chose to interpret in a variety of ways in
displays, exhibited throughout the church.

Cow Town's
Colourful Carnival
A gloriously sunny
evening on Saturday August 8th added to the enjoyment of this
year's Cow Town Carnival, with crowds lining Bolton St, waiting
for the procession to reach Rea Barn Hill traffic lights for
the customary exchange of goods, before the procession down
into the town centre.

A taste
for steam
This year the Torbay
Steam Fair bought together many enthusiasts and novices together,
all keen to savour the delights of an age gone by, as steam
engines bellowed and whistled around the Churston site, near
Brixham.

Summer Blooms at the
Scala
Brixham Horticultural
Society launched their Summer Show at the Scala Hall Friday
24th July with over 400 entries and a large influx of visitors,
to enjoy their summer blooms and this year's variety of exhibits.

Drop and Rescue
The Torbay Lifeboat
crew were in action around the Brixham Harbour and Marina from
5.45pm on Wednesday 22nd July with Sea Safety Demonstration
for the large crowds around the Harbourside, Marina and along
the Breakwater Hard.

Plenty of Pie
Right on time, the
large Gooseberry Pie arrived at Churston Station on Sun 5th
July carried by the steam train Hercules, and was paraded down
to the village of Galmpton to be enjoyed by the large crowds
of visitors and villagers attending the Galmpton Gooseberry
Pie Fair 2009.

Racing
Trawlers, round the Bay!
In glorious sunshine
fishing vessels full of families and friends of the crews came
back into port on Sat June 20th to enjoy barbeques and all the
fun on the quayside, after powering the Brixham fleet around
the Bay, in the fishing community's annual Trawler Race.

Festival gets underway!
The familiar pulsating drum rhythms of Street Heat marching
along Fore St on Sat 23rd May, heralded the start of the week

Land Army
Girls Reunion
Whilst
the boys were enjoying themselves at the mini steam rally and
re-enactment by Churston railway line, Louise Spencer and her
ladies spent Saturday 9th May providing fabulous food and entertainment
for the Land Army, Timber Corps and Rat Catcher girls of the
second world war.

At the end of the
Brixham Pirate and Shanty Festival many ‘arrhs' had been sounded
and shanties sung!

Record
Breaking Brixham!
The large crowds of
costumed charters that gathered all around Brixham Harbour on
Sunday 3rd May at 2pm all had one desire, to put Brixham in
the Guinness Book of Records as the place where the most pirates
had ever assembled.

Buccaneer's
launch Brixham Pirate & Shanty Festival!
To let
everyone know their were pirates coming to the town this May
Bank Holiday weekend, Saturday 2nd May at 10.30am saw the Brixham
Buccaneers rounded up as many of the costumed pirate characters
they could find, to paraded down Fore St to the Golden Hind.
